Bunny Bee Designs

In the run up to Christmas I am always on the look out for new and beautiful bits and I have fallen in love with the website www.bunnybeedesigns.co.uk featuring hand-painted gifts including stunning pictures using a technique called ‘eglomise’ (in English it’s painting on the glass rather than on a canvas) giving a vibrant finish.

The oink pig and moo cow are my favourite pictures but I also love the chairs and treasure boxes.

Miss Piggy – true beautology, true stylisit and true glamorositude.

With the Muppets movie soon to come out there seems to be an influx of merchandise, especially for Miss Piggy. Oozing femininity and charm this pig also has some serious attitude if she thinks you might beat her to the top (she yearns for stardom) or steal the affections of Kermit.

Whether it’s nail varnish by O.P.I, being the face of M.A.C (including lashes, lip colour and more), or the gorgeous Jerome C Rousseau pink glitter stilettos i’m sure the collaborations will be a (lucrative) hit for all involved.

My favourite Miss Piggy quotes:

  • Never eat more than you can lift.
  • There is only one gift you should accept on your first date – diamonds.
  • Moi has always possessed a charm that is lethal to men
  • Express your feelings all the time unless you’re trying to hide something.

Morning smiles

I couldn’t help but smile looking at this picture in the Metro this morning. Check out the facial expressions… Sometimes life is too short to do anything else but smile. Here’s to a fab day x

Improve your memory with Chanel

From snowglobes and dolls of Karl Lagerfeld launching in Sephora (along with a capsule collection of colour) to the Kids Space on Chanels internet site… fashion is having a childish moment and it’s fab!

Whether you play a memory game matching the logos or are colouring in the latest Chanel accessories (jewel coloured 2.55 anyone?) this has to be the best way to bring up a young fashionista (or at least whittle away 5 minutes during your lunch break).

Holy Molly… I love this necklace

In tribute to Molly Ringwald in her ‘pretty in pink’ heyday this gorgeous postbox red necklace doubles up on functionality with twin tubs of lipbalm concealed inside.

The lip balms come in a clear and red tint and have organic beeswax, softening shea buter and red raspberry seed oil (thought to help protect from the sun).

It’s £28 from www.andreagarlandshop.co.uk and you can even get refills (the details are in the pack) – So look good, feel good and help save the environment!

Boys toys…

So from girls toys yesterday to boys toys today, i’m loving the website www.littlescout.co.uk it’s filled with fun things for boys who love being boys! From build your own erupting volcano to a camouflage kit or for the more cuddly side of things maybe a handmade fleecy newt. My personal faves though are the Paperpods – A selection of large cardboard make-believe toys to play in such as a rocket and a castle… Perfect for toddlers (and their parents)

Totally Gaga…

Check out showstudio.com for some amazing pieces of art including the very bizarre but brilliant (in an insane way) cistern signed by Lady Gaga “I am not fucking Duchamp. But I love pissing with you” complete with rumour has it her own pubes strewn into the bottom?! Couple that with Tracy Emin displaying used tampons in her latest show I’m not so sure I want modern art at my house!!

Baby hand prints all the way!

Barbie goes all LA Ink with Tokidoki

Though I might have a little boy sometimes I can’t resist a sneak peak at bits for girls… on my latest hunt through Christmas ideas I stumbled across the Tokidoki Barbie with baby pink hair and tattoos. I think she is kinda’ cool and love that it’s a move away from the ‘normal’ Barbie stereotypical doll. However, it’s dividing opinion with some really funny comments on parenting sites, saying how their kids are going to want to be just like her neck tattoos and all!

Well firstly it’s a collectors doll, so it’s at an inflated price so if you buy it for your kids more fool you and secondly I played with Sylvanian Families and you don’t see me running round dressed as a squirrel do you?

And lastly if you are that worried maybe you shouldn’t let your child watch TV with celebrities like Katy Perry and Lady Gaga as next thing you know your little angel may have blue hair and dress in steak… Or how about letting your child enjoy the variety in life, not all people are going to be blonde haired and blue eyed.

Ruby Hammer Recommends…

I’m a massive Ruby Hammer fan, especially as my first cosmetic splurge as a teenager was buying a Ruby & Millie Lipgloss (which years later when I met her I realised I still had – note to self to clear out my cosmetics bag more regularly!) so I am really pleased that her new range in Debenhams ‘Ruby Hammer Recommends’ is finally on sale.

The range includes 22 gifts suitable for all ages and there’s a great link on the Debenhams website to watch her in action using them.

I thoroughly recommend the smudge crayons for a seriously quick and easy smokey eye.

I’ve got the bug… Kevin Murphy COLOR.BUG

I have fallen in love with a bug! Kevin Murphy’s COLOR.BUGS…
I have just stumbled across these whilst reading Emerald Street (the brilliant daily update from the Stylist – highly recommend a subscribe). The basic principle is that it’s coloured hair shadow. Yep that’s right HAIR SHADOW…! The principle is based on old session stylist tricks of using coloured pigments (normally eye shadows) and using them over styling products to set them with a bold colour finish. It means a model can have pink hair for one show and be back to blonde in an instant, simply wash out and the colour will be gone. After some googling around I watched his podcast and it works on dark hair too – I can’t wait to get hold of them and have a play!
